About Katelyn
If there is one commonality among those working in the property industry, it’s that they love working with people.
Property Manager Assistant Katelyn Moulden is no different. She was attracted to the role at Lodge Rentals because she genuinely enjoys meeting new people and forming long-term, beneficial relationships.
Prior to taking on her current role, Katelyn had already accumulated experience at Lodge working on reception and assisting property managers with the Healthy Homes updates.
“That was a busy role, but one I really enjoyed,” says Katelyn. “I was organising quotes and invoices for property owners during quite a busy period where we played a key role helping owners get their homes up to the new standard.”
Having seen the ins and outs of property management unfold around her, Katelyn became interested in joining the property management team herself.
“I really enjoy working at Lodge, particularly the way they prioritise staff development, and the culture is fun and friendly; everyone is quick to offer help and advice when you need it,” she says.
Katelyn also aspires to step into a property manager role in the future. “The assistant role is great because I’m getting that valuable on-the-ground knowledge and building good relationships, which will help me make that step later on.”
As a Property Manager Assistant, Katelyn’s key responsibilities are arranging property inspections and viewings.
“I help the property managers in the Grey St office, mostly with rental inspections and that’s usually conducting pre-entry inspections before a tenant moves in, inspections while they’re living there, and property viewings for prospective tenants.”
Katelyn has a few more strings to her bow, including a Diploma in Health Science thanks to a stint in Auckland where she was studying to be a chiropractor.
And while she may not be working in the health sector, she’s glad to be on the property career path she wants to be on and putting her people skills to great use.
