Hi, my name is Katherine Chi, and I’ve been working as a residential real estate agent in beautiful Hamilton for more than 15 years.
I love my job and have been involved in property nearly all my working life, including stints in Beijing, China and Melbourne, Australia.
But nothing beats the industry in New Zealand and helping to sell and buy homes on behalf of my clients is my passion – it’s a job I thrive in and a career I find very rewarding.
Part of my success lies in my ability to communicate with a diverse range of people from many cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
I’m fluent in English, Mandarin, and Fujian (a dialect of both Taiwan and South China) so have helped many skilled and well-qualified immigrants to settle in Hamilton.
I regard myself as highly professional and knowledgeable in real estate. I’m committed to all my clients’ needs, whether a first- or second-home buyer, seller, investor, or developer. I know the key factors each type of customer looks for, and will proactively work to find the best solution for them.
One of the reasons I find my job so rewarding is the relationships I’ve been able to develop over the years. Today I regard many of my past and current clients as close friends, and have built up a network of extremely useful contacts in Hamilton that can help with finance, conveyancing, information, recommendations, and solutions.

In terms of personal background, me, my husband and my family first arrived in New Zealand in 1987, and my husband was initially a graduate student at Massey University. Once the studies were complete, my husband got a job at Palmerston North. After that we moved to Hamilton to run a retail and export business. Travelling is a one of our favourite pass-times, seeking new experiences and visiting new places is always inspirational. Also, reading is one of our hobby as well.
I’m committed to fulfilling my clients’ expectations, and marketing properties to the best of my ability. I am a seasoned marketer, advertiser, negotiator, and closer. I’m also determined to find the best market price for residential homes, and am on the constant lookout for my large pool of buyers in my contacts list – I know what will motivate every one of them!
