About Keith

Having worked in property management for almost 25 years, it’s fair to say Keith Hallam is one of Lodge City Rentals’ most experienced Property Management Consultants.

Keith officially joined Lodge City Rentals back in 2009 when Lodge purchased the property management company Keith was a shareholder in at the time.

“The companies’ amalgamation brought me over to Lodge, where I’m pleased to have been ever since. It has been a great 12 years working alongside Lodge’s wonderful staff and clients,” Keith says.

Committed to the property management industry for more than two decades, it’s unsurprising that Keith’s varied portfolio includes multiple ‘veteran’ landlords.

“I have a wide variety of clients, many of whom have had investment properties for 20, 30, or even 40 years. I’m privileged enough to have worked with some of them for the entire time I’ve been with Lodge,” Keith says.

“The longevity of these relationships is very special. When you’re with a client for a long time you have the chance to really get to know them and build crucial mutual trust,” Keith says.

Evidently, building robust client relationships is at the heart of Keith’s work. He also makes it clear that finding and liaising well with tenants is equally important.

“As a property manager you deal with tenants from New Zealand and all over the world. Some of my most rewarding moments have been seeing newly-arrived families find a home in our beautiful city. Settling into a new country is hard work and it’s nice to be a part of that process,” he says.

His care for both landlords and tenants is summed up well by a client, who says, “Keith is a professionally proactive property manager in every sense of the word; a strong communicator focused on delivering the very best of experience for his landlord. Keith is careful in the selection of tenants and takes every opportunity to maximise the rental return to the landlord.”

Interestingly, prior to becoming a property management consultant Keith was a policeman; a profession he says has some surprising similarities to the work he does now.

“In both the policing and property management industries, there’s huge variation. You never know what might come through the door on any given day,” he says.

“I particularly enjoy this aspect of my job, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
