Dean completed his Bachelor of Management Studies at the Waikato University in 1990. While not originally from Hamilton, work brought him back to the city in 2000 with wife Megan and their 3 children. Prior to joining Lodge, Dean had various roles in companies in the International Trade Sector, including both importing and exporting. He has had a variety of roles during his career including National Sales Manager and General Manager Roles.

Since joining the commercial team at Lodge in 2007, Dean has strived to do the best to achieve the most desirable outcome for all parties concerned. Total satisfaction for both principal parties is of paramount importance to him. This approach has resulted in a number of sales and leasing agreements being concluded. In 2008 he was awarded the Most Promising Salesperson for 2007/2008. He has also consistently been in the top 10 sale achievers for the entire company and number one commercial agent for the past two years running. In 2011 Dean achieved Lodge Ruby level recognising three consecutive years at Gold level.
